Frequently asked questions

The click distorts at high volume.

Lower the system volume. The app caps its own output well below full-scale, but iPhone speakers can still distort at the top of the system volume range.

The torch (camera flash) won't turn on.

Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → nome and allow camera access. iOS requires camera permission for any app to control the flashlight, even without showing a preview.

The haptics aren't firing.

• Check Settings → Sounds & Haptics → System Haptics is on.
• Low Power Mode disables the Taptic Engine — turn it off to test.
• Haptics fire on main beats only; subdivisions are skipped by design.

Does the metronome drift over time?

It shouldn't. nome schedules clicks directly on the audio hardware clock — not a JavaScript timer — so timing is sample-accurate. If you're seeing drift, please email us with your device model and iOS version.

Can I use nome on an iPad?

Not in this release. nome is iPhone-only.

What iOS version does nome require?

iOS 26 or later.
